❍ 《汉书·杜钦传》：“殷因于夏尚质，周因于殷尚文。今汉家承周秦之敝，宜抑文尚质，废奢长俭，表实去伪。”
❍ 宋·韩琦《诫励风俗浮薄诏》：“以周文之小心，汉光之柔道，惟兢惟业，勤览万机，曷尝不惇本体元，废奢长俭，推行忠厚之教，惇任廉良之人。”
